Crowdfunding relies on trust. That’s why Indiegogo is constantly setting standards, adopting best practices, and tackling the hardest problems — all to empower our community of backers and campaigners to make informed decisions on Indiegogo.
Our mission is to empower people to unite around ideas that matter to them and, together, make those ideas come to life. Providing a safe, secure, and transparent platform is an essential part of achieving this mission. For that reason, we’re continually improving our programs to monitor campaign progress, provide greater transparency, and highlight entrepreneurs with proven track records within our community.
10 Years, 1 Takeaway: It’s All About Community & Trust
This month, I’m celebrating a decade of working at Indiegogo. I’ve held many roles here, mainly in Product, and I added Trust and Safety under my stewardship last year. The world has changed so much since I began here, but one thing has remained constant: Indiegogo’s vision to connect entrepreneurs and enthusiasts so that, together, they can bring ideas to life.
As an organization, we’ve learned a lot over the past 10 years. Our mission will always stay the same, but how we achieve it must evolve.

Indiegogo and GoFundMe have co-created a first-of-its-kind Trust Alliance for the global crowdfunding industry that focuses on trust policies, fraud detection, and prevention best practices for like-minded crowdfunding platforms.
